Not so long-ago people lived and ate differently. A season meant something and there were mainly local delicacies on the menu Today, the shops are full of the most exotic species all year round. Because of that abundance, unfortunately some of the flavours from our kitchen are forgotten. Time to put them in the spotlights again!

On this poster you will find 10 vegetables that (almost) disappeared from our kitchen today. Hang up the poster in the classroom and let the students search for the correct name for each forgotten vegetable based on the questions.
A home assignment. Let the students ask their parents or grandparents what vegetables they ate when they were young. Maybe there was parsnip soup on the table or salsify with béchamel sauce? First draw up a list of forgotten vegetables together with them in the classroom, and they will immediately have some examples at hand.
Play a round of 'who am I?' in class. Download the playing cards with forgotten vegetables and hand them out to your students. Each student sticks a card on his forehead and now has to guess what vegetable he is. Guess guess...
